Twenty six years ago today...
Twenty six years ago today our second daughter was born. It took me over an hour and a half to drive the forty miles to the hospital on frozen roads. The entire journey was done with the centre differential locked on the Land Rover 90 turbo diesel. Seven miles to go and the Mrs was kneeing on the front seat facing over the bulkhead of the 90 timing her contractions. A flick of the wipers to clear the wet from the windscreen. It didn't work, it was tears in my eyes. Half an hour after reaching the hospital carpark and my daughter was in my arms. Yep it was a close call. A few minutes later she was in intensive care. "Just be thankful if she can dress herself", said the paediatrician. And so the journey started.
Twenty six years on and my daughter is a better dresser than me and is the light of our lives. Has not always been an easy road but we are still here.... 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Also a bit of a story for you too, 11 years ago, i had just come in from work, and sat down to a nice bottle of strong Guinness, this was about 10 pm. My phone goes, and it was my mate, who's other half was expecting at the time. He belled me and asked if i could take the two to the hospital. I said i will be the very soon. Her waters had broke, so in she she went in the back seat, of the peugeot. i said just use the full rear seat, just so she was comfy. We got there, my mate thanked me and he said fun and games now.
6 AM in the morning i got a text message from my mate, deeply thanking me and telling me he had a baby boy at 4 30 AM. We still laugh about it now Laughing hard to believe there were four more afterwards Shocked but then again He is a dad of 9! poor blokes hair has practically gone Shocked Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
