Along the top bar, down the windscreen bar, across the top of the wing to the bulkhead. Thats the way LR did it.

Down the front leg of the rack and through the gap between the bonnet and wing adjacent to the bulkhead. Mine come down alongside my RAI and do this, it's pretty discreet and requires no drilling at all.

Are there other options for wire loom and protection besides the typical
Plastic tubing? I think it looks like such junk. |

If you use appropriately sheathed multi-core cable then you don't really need any further protection in this location and it can be less obtrusive. Flexible conduit won't fit through the bonnet-wing gap anyway. Having said that, when I used the 'down the side of the snorkel' apprach on a Discovery many years ago, I fixed a length of rigid plastic conduit to the side of it as an easy guide for the cable, which looked quite neat. If you are interested the LR part number is STC61867 and was fitted to the Tomb Raider edition Defenders
Number 10 on this diagram https://www.lrworkshop.com/diagrams/land-r...amps_53684 If you are so inclined then it will set you back a cool £220... But you can see the LR route for the wiring. |

That routing did follow the suedo-roll cage on those models, though. Darren

Oh yes it will! There are some benefits to Landrover's shocking panel gaps! Mind you it will vary from vehicle to vehicle of course (and before you ask I cannot adjust that gap to be smaller without screwing up the fit of the wings and bonnet at the front). Click image to enlarge |
