Absolute legend, thank you Stacey
Was starting to get concerned there'd be no presentable way of mounting it without some mahusive 3D printed spacer. Stuart Cummins 130 Build Thread 58 130 Double Cab HCPU - Cairns Blue 04 110 Double Cab - Black (gone) 07 Audi RS4 Avant - Silver |

Ordered a load of trinkets for the truck, which I hope to have some time to fit in the new year, but after reading on here about a theft, very very near to me, fitted one trinket asap

Replaced drop arm ball joint and overhauled passenger side swivel housing. Neither without incident, it was a punishing 12 hr shift!
Just back from a test drive, what a difference it has made to the handling.😅 Time for a beer! |

@gren
I thought i found it on the second attempt, the access panel for the washer jet had a screw missing and was easily rattled.. nope. I took it apart yesterday and then had to go out. It could easily roll into 2022 though, the rattle will definitely be gone in 2023, along with the 90 Merry Christmas all! |

Had a blast up into the Peak District and gave it a sponge bath first clean since it’s been back on the road as much to get the salt off as anything else.

Speaking of Alfa's are you following the series on YouTube of the Australian chap fitting a Ferrari V8 to an Alfa 105? 1999 Defender TD5 110

Yeah I’ve seen a few episodes, it’s full open heart surgery and honesty not sure the end result will be that good. A little car like the Alfa doesn’t need a v8 Ferrari engine to be fun lol. The other interesting one is that classic mini with a gt4 engine in it. Plenty of mad but talented people about.

I spent the day indulging in a little gentle green-laning round the Salisbury Plain area, which was very quiet and enjoyable with very little other traffic, even though the electrical gremlins struck in a bizarre way late in the afternoon when unexpectedly the heated rear screen circuit autonomously energised. Some quick fiddling about revealed that the HRW circuit now comes on whenever the sidelights are turned on.
This is a little bit of an issue for me since (not having a rear screen) I use the HRW circuit for my rear and side-facing work lights, and obviously can't drive on the road with immensely bright white lights on the rear and sides. Pulling the HRW relay extinguished the lights, but doesn't alter the fault - the sidelights now consistently turn on the HRW! Unplugging the HRW switch, pulling the HRW fuse, pulling the HRW relay, and even unplugging the IPAC, doesn't alter the fault, and clearly a short has developed between the sidelight circuit and the wiring connecting the output of the HRW switch to the relay and IPAC. I do actually have an idea what the problem may be but it is too late and too dark to start stripping out the dash tonight, so investigation will have to wait until tomorrow. |

My suspicion was correct, and the electrical gremlin had solved itself by this morning. What I didn't mention in the previous post was that yesterday was the sort of day when it was necessary to use the headlamps washers and screen washers frequently and extensively. Late in the day the screen washer packed up (although the pump still ran), and some time after this the electrical gremlin with the HRW wiring started up. The screen washer and the electrical gremlin are now both sorted out, a zero-cost repair for once. If anyone want to have a guess at the cause of the electrical problem, feel free, a well-earned feeling of smugness awaits any correct diagnosis! I will reveal what happened at some point in the future. Last edited by blackwolf on 31st Dec 2021 7:31pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Glad it’s sorted, and yes a self made fix and identification of the problem is a great feeling. 👍🏻 ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

The hose blew off the washer jet and shorted out the Rear heated screen circuit?! |
