Took seats out back of my DC and replaced with Exmoor trim new seats & frames - now have tip forward highback seats meaning can get access to space behind & underneath for storage, PLUS any back seat passengers do not have the rear window as a headrest!

EDIT-Just to add, mine are held locked in place with a key latch lock, 1 lock on each of the outer seats. Rock solid, but quick to release if required.-

Any pictures of this key latch lock? I’d like something similar myself. Many thanks

The back of the seats in the double cab/130 at least are fixed no “top” latch just a bracket on each side fixes them

I have a 110 crew cab and would like to be easily able to fold down the seat backs so I can access the space behind for storage. So im looking for a quickly release catch solution rather than the fixed with bolts solution.

As I said earlier in this thread, on my 2007 DC the second row seats the seat-backs had the fixed brackets but are in fact normal second row seats with the customary modified back-rest angle for the DC cab. On these the fixed brackets can be removed and discarded allowing the seats to tip and lock etc just like SW seats.

It may be that the TD5 second row seats are different in the respect but I doubt it.

But that’s the problem. I’ve removed these brackets but mine don’t “lock”. They easily fold forward when breaking.

Something like this looks like it locks the seat in place but can easily unlatch it. Will it fit a 110 crew cab?

Unfortunately since I have no experience of a TD5 DC second row I can't really advise, it looks as though it might work. I hadn't realised that the TD5 was so primitive in this respect!

Any idea how the SW second row on a TD5 works? It might be possible to adapt the SW seats (or seat mechanism) to fit, on the TDCi the seats are the same on a DC and SW except that the catch on the DC is modified to lock at a more upright angle.

I know that there are some people on here who have fitted TDCi second row seats to TD5s, but it isn't straightforward and, as I recall, requires the chassis mounts to be changed.

So after a bit of playing around I came up with this solution. Was easy enough to do.

I can now lock the seat in the upright position or quickly release it to gain access to behind and underneath.
