Wow. With the addition of that fuel cap holder I really don't see the need for the Defender replacement. It's perfect now.

Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Well, I admit I lost already one cap and was thinking how to make a holder. Anyone knows the part number?

Damn.. Does that mean it's going to be harder to be lazy and wedge it in the fuel nozzle whilst filling up?

If it is attached by a short strap it will hang down below the filler, then every time the pump does not cut out or the residual diesel dribbles out of the spout then the filler cap will get covered, I'd chop that strap the first time I got diesel covered hands.
There is probably some EU directive covering the attachment of filler caps to vehicles that has cost millions to produce ..... And contributes sod all to free trade. 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper |

Diesel spills kill motorcyclists and anything that reminds motorists to re-fit their fuel cap is a good thing in my book? 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS.. |

Surley it is the fact that the filler cap is attached to your keys that reminds you to fit it, after a few miles of it bumping the drivers left knee the message will make its way to the brain. 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper

Most of what kills motorcyclists is their irresponsible creation of a 'third lane' on a dual carriageway, weaving in and out at ridiculous speeds with a sense of entitlement. Until they assume 100% ownership of their own behaviour, bearing in mind they are riding a small, fast accelerating machine amongst slower vehicles in their own lane, then they'll get no sympathy from me. Anyway, that's a side issue unrelated to the thread. What a nice little piece of plastic; damn I wish I'd delayed my February purchase until now!........ D300 HSE 110 |

That's an improvement! I lost 2 caps on my prevoius Td5 ... actually did not lost them ... just left them at the station, but going back 150 km was more expensive thant buyin a new one!
I do use that 3rd lane ... but at low speeds ... in fact, the reason why I only broke my left foot last March, and did not have to donate my kidney, was because I was on the 3rd lane, but at a low speed as always, when I crashed onto a another motorcyclist that was going to do the same I was doing!
