Free French Holiday Spring 2022? Looking for a renderer…..
Slightly odd post this, but looking for an experienced renderer to come to France for a short break. Have some walls, seating etc that needs to be rendered (concrete based, rather than lime or hemp), but cannot find anyone here who can be bothered, and when they can at least bother with a quote, want to charge a frigging fortune. Need to find:

a. Someone who knows what they’re doing.
b. Who’s reliable enough to actually turn up….
c. For the right money.

We’re open to offers for someone to come and help. No need to be a professional, but experience (with photos) vital. In return we’ll pay for flights and a hotel room, for a week, plus your daily rate for the work done. I’d suspect there will be 4-5 days work, so the remaining days will be a free holiday, (so if you want to bring your other half and profit from the hotel room, be my guest). If you’d prefer to drive, we will cover costs to the equivalent of the return flight for the same period. As an indication, the usual cost to drive from the SE England to Mont Blanc, is £750 return, flight between £100-£200. So it would perhaps cover fuel or tolls.

We live in a lovely part of France, with walking, mountain biking, road cycling, places of historic interest, restaurants and bars all on our doorstep. You’ll love it.

With 30cm snow expected today, and more over the next few weeks, this is a request for next year. I’ll be around to help throughout the week and will supply all materials and tools. I’d be thinking end of April.

Any thoughts, or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Monsieur Le Grenadier

Guessing the legality of this arrangement is somewhat suspect given the wonders of Brexit....but that is just speculation on my part.

Not casting aspersions Grenadier, just advising caution.

See this - completely different jurisdiction but...

Thanks KMAC. As it’s just the garden, where no insurance will be required from local trades, won’t be a problem. We can pay in sterling, so if anyone comes it will just be a busman’s holiday.

And with regard to doing a local out of a job, none of the locals want it as it’s too small. We’ve been turned down so many times it’s laughable. They all want a full chalet refurb or nothing. Most small jobs like this are taken on by (previously) Brits, plus the usual selection of Poles, Romanians, Spanish, Italians etc. But when they start saying no or letting you down, you know you’ve got to think of other options. The property market is the strongest I’ve seen it in 15 years and with that comes copious work for builders etc. Monsieur Le Grenadier
