Bilstein shock hardening? 10 yrs?
G'day from Australia brain trust,

Got me an 07 TDCI 90 with a few good mods done by Twisted back in 2010. The ride is HARD at the moment and I feel absolutely everything - I kinda enjoy it but the missy hates it.

I believe they did an early P8 upgrade with bilstein shocks and steering damper + lowered spring road kit.

She's only done 60k miles and has been well looked after - I'm just wondering if the shocks/springs may have hardened up pretty dramatically over low use/time? Does this occur at all?

It's likely that the spring rates are high rather than the dampers being hard. Particularly if it's been lowered, the spring rate might be higher to account for the reduction in travel.

Try some softer/comfort springs > 110 XS Double Cab

10 years eh? How are your bushes? 10 years is a long time in bush years especially in Oz.

I had the bilsteins on my 90 when I bought it and the ride was hard and harsh. So I put standard shocks and spring isolators on it and it was a lot better. But it wasn’t no Range Rover. Wink
