The FFRR is nice, I had the Velar and when I looked at a lot of owners I realised I just didn’t fit in with the crowd. Even walking into these new JLR showrooms I feel out of place. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

To be clear, these weren't neccessarily my alternatives.. just trying to be inclusive! Glad someone's gone for the Panda. |

The Macan's are amazing value for money at the moment - assuming you don't go silly with the options. Entirely off-topic, but if you're looking more for large, comfy luxury than off-road capability, the BMW 7 series seem to be hugely discounted (£80k car for £60k). I guess it's not selling as well as hoped. |

How much off road?
If it was off road then it would be the previous Defender or D3. Something I don't mind some minor damage to. |

Ineos Grenadier - I have an option placed so whatever car comes first will get a drive and after the second arrives I'll see which one I'll sell 110 D250 SE Tasman Blue, white roof, black pack, advanced towing pack, rear diff locker, driver assist

If your car starts with an X or Q, I can’t imagine a defender person would know what to say to them. Unless their doing a quote

Rob - I think we'd all like to think that's true.. But I think that really depends on your definition of a 'defender person'. If you're talking about the folks in sawn-off wellies & tatty overalls with an eye full of rust - you may be right.
But at the prices these things are going for now - where you'll struggle to get into a decade old defender for less than £25k, or a new one for £50k, I suspect the new target market has probably owned a couple of BMWs and Audis before upgrading to an LR product. |

They are now definitely in a new price bracket. I have sadly had to order a Ford ranger as it’s 20k and has rear seats.
Modern defender having been in one still has a workable interior. It’s very capable. My personal view is the QandX’s are just for show. Unless someone as been using it to tow a trailer out of a field, or getting dirty on the green lanes. It’s pretty much in a class of it’s own still. G wagon maybe. |

Quite offensive, what's wrong with sawn off wellies and tatty overalls, some of us do a proper day's graft dressed like this and are still able to buy a new defender! |

Im also of the straight back to FFRR camp. In fact having now sat in one and poked about, that is my exact intention when the L460 has had time for any problems to show for early deliveries.
