Got round to installing my Front runner gullwing today. It’s a good quality bit of kit but design is flawed.
It fits left to right but you have to take off 4mm on top and bottom of body work to make it fit in. Why they didn’t make it to the original size of the defender sliding windows i don’t know. Ignore the silicone around edge waiting forever it to dry before I cut off. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Due to the amount of weight, the old suspension was sagging. So after a brief call with Gwyn at Gwyn Lewis he put me a kit better suited together. Ended up With OME +2 front shocks, +3 rear shocks. HD + 2 rear springs and Hd +2 front springs. Done the +2”
Braided hoses and bump stops. Also managed to get both of his front and rear Mega props. Whilst at it I removed front and rear antiroll bars, it flexes really well but think that may of been a mistake. Will see how it goes. Installed TF +2” arches. Just need to iron out my brake issue. Also manged to get my ARB zero 60L fridge freezer wired up and installed. Are you going to paint the wheel arches or not?

Undecided at the moment. I previously brought gloss black standard arches and thought they looked terrible. But don’t think these look to bad. Would be interesting to see a similar vehicle in same colour with them painted.

Looks awesome.
I have Fox +1.5-3.5" shocks to fit front and rear, but am still trying to build up the kit i want to go with them. Our vehicles are remarkably comparable in terms of loading by the looks of it. Would you be able to share the spring numbers front and rear you used, and the other supporting hardware, such as turrets (did you use +2" turret or standard height) and do you have relocation for the springs? Am trying to build up a bill of material to do mine but there are a number of ways to do it!! |
