Almost Made my choice..
OK so probably 18 months since I started looking for new wheels / tyres... i think I have made my mind up.


There isn't a great deal of choice that look OEM imho.. and having had 16" Sawtooths in black for 6 years I fancy a slight change.... I've gone though the 'monster truck look' to the bowlers. The 'family' opinion is the Sawtooths look 'Sophisticated' and not boy racer Rolling with laughter

So decided 'I think' on 18" sawtooth but with the silver bits? like the V8s and BFG tyres (for looks) without the white letters as my Defender is now a 'fun' car and not a daily.. I've yet to actually see one with these wheels in the flesh just pictures, so a bit different?


So what's the verdict... Mine currently and have loved it like this for the past 6 years...

I think if I just change for 18" in black it will look the same...just fancy a change...

I think you should bring back the whole Lotus JPS F1 & Esprit look by going for the Method 701’s in Matte Bronze available in Defender in 5x165 stud pattern…

They come as standard with Bead grip design, so you can air down to 5psi to get into car parks when necessary too 😉 😉

Couldn’t find a Defender pic, so had to settle for D2 (that has different stud pattern)

I think you'll go off the diamond cut ones after a while... go with the bowlers Thumbs Up

I had sawtooths on for a while and to be fair absolutely loved them but like you I wanted a change. I stuck to 16's so I could carry on using my current tyres.

Same here I'm afraid, I love my sawtooths but I would get fed up of those silver bits so if you want something different then it's the Bowlers....

Oh you are an absolute banana for posting this, a modern take on a the classic 8 spoke wheel - I really really really like it.

And it comes in a 17x8.5" size, with a 6.5" PCD (165.1mm), with 0mm offset - which sounds perfect for the 35" BFG KO2...

I do quite like these but those look a bit lost in the back arch? are they 16" or 18" on the 90 they seem to look better oddly?

I also prefer the black letters, no white ones for me please Smile


I'm still swaying to the Sawtooth as like I say I've yet to see one, yet normal sawtooths and bowlers are more common Smile especially round here in Cheshire

must admit the turned sawtooths look good to me in that picture classy like the queen owns it DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I like these a LOT, but at £360 per wheel I think I'd stick with Blindos. Shocked 1985 127 V8 Build Thread
