Tyre advice for 2007 Defender with lift kit
Good afternoon all,

My first post on this forum so hope I don't break any forum rules.

I recently purchased a 2007 Defender Puma with a lift kit (How high I'm not sure) and fitted with BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tyres. The most off-roading the van will do is to drive into various fields with a horse box or car transporter trailer and it is a daily driver so the tyres have got to go as I just can't cope with the noise above 30mph.

My concern is that, with the lift which looks to be at least 2 inches, will any standard or all-terrain tyre look a bit lost in the arches? My tyre size is 235/85/16 and I've looked at Black Circles and best in terms of fuel economy / breaking / noise is the Michelin Latitude Cross but I just feel they will look silly with such a large lift. I found a real life image of the tyres here: https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic66365.html and not sure if they would look odd in my wheel arches.

Out of the chunkier tyres (Continental Cross Contact AT, General Grabber, BF Goodrich AT, etc) which in your opinion has given the best performance in terms of fuel economy and road noise?

Any advice would be much appreciated! I've also attached an image of the van for reference, and if anyone knows what lift it's got that would be great!

Is it the image in your gallery?
The lift doesn't look too bad with the tyres you have.

The KM3s are a bit noisier than ATs but not massively so.

Yeah it's the one in the gallery image. That's the thing the current lift / tyre combination works fine, just a bit concerned that switching to a more road going tyre will make it look a bit of an odd combination? And although I plan to return the ride height to standard at some point, I didn't want to do so just yet
