I love a good trip 😁
For me the 2 essentials are my : A. Alpkit Brukit (similar to the Jetboil) B. Halfords Pro socket set 😬 There are dozens of other essential bits (though a roof tent isn't one of them) but these are the most consistently essential 🤣 Mo The Land Rover 90 - Many are called, few are chosen. 50 Shades of Pennine Grey |

It that just for brews or do you cook with it?
I do like my Rab kit, got a Summit down jacket; and a Myriad lightweight waterproof. Not looked at their range recently, so might have to check that jacket out... |

The main issue in regards to cooking is that you cannot regulate the temperature, fine for a boil in the bag meal, not so great for a say warming up a chilli slowly without it burning on the bottom. JetBoil do the Genesis double burner cooking system which looks cool and takes up very little space. I have attached a video, you don't have to watch the whole thing but it will give you an idea. Not a video I would have gone looking for so glad you posted it. The jet boil is expensive but did seem fast on the boil. Shame on the old Coleman, was hoping that beat both the modern competition... |

These are what we carry and yes jet boil is just for brews. Main stove is a Primus Tupike which is dead simple burns hot & strips to clean it. |

I went to Morocco a couple of years ago in a group. I always like 'old school' so took an old aluminium kettle and my cast iron gas ring (I know, travel light), plus I always thought JetBoils were a bit of a gimmick. Anyway, everyone else in the group had JetBoils and whenever we stopped for a brew, they had all had theirs and packed away while I was still waiting for my kettle to boil.
Needless to say, I have since bought one. My other bit of kit would be my ARB fridge. Euro-Leafing to infinity and beyond..... |

I’ve been in exactly the same boat on the same trip. I’m having either Jetboil or Coleman Fyrestorm ( can’t decide which) for Xmas. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Another here one for the jet boil
It’s just so quick and easy to set up, use and pack away. The other would be my Bose revolve speaker, wireless, rechargeable, lasts for days. Nothing nicer than sat out early morning with a hot cup of tea and some music on in the background  2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8
