Hi Bim,

TBH I havent had chance to revisit the cruise control issue, but hope to in the coming weeks, the system is back to standard, rewired and using the discovery set/resume switches. also tried another ECU just to rule that out.

I'll keep you updated.

Cheers

England 2005 Defender 90 Td5 XS CSW Java Black
Well on Saturday I had some spare time to take a proper look and my sister turned up in her 90 so I quickly plugged the nanocom to see the state of the switches on hers. I noticed on mine ‘brake switch 2’ was on which made sense due to the wiring of the cruise control, but my clutch switch showed on when not pressed but off when pressed, this worked opposite to my sisters
So looking at the wiring diagrams and checking the switches confirmed mine was NO and my sisters NC, so it turns out my original clutch switch was faulty but going by the listing for the clutch switch it isn’t right for a defender td5 but would be correct for a Puma and a Disco 2!
New correct one ordered and fitted, Speedo healer and 5 pin relay wired in to use with and without overdrive, and guess what? Everything works as it should!

So moral of the story is, Don’t trust vehicle fitment listings on suppliers website as they aren’t always right!

Cheers

when mine did this it was a broken wire in the rear screen meaning the 3rd brake light didn't work.

He's not posted since, l hope he got it working.

One thing to be aware of is, the Puma clutch switch looks the same as a TD5 one, but it works the opposite way round, as in pressing the clutch opens the switch rather than closes it.

l fitted a new clutch pedal box and it was a Puma one, then the cruise didn't work, the only thing it could be was the switch, which is how l found out.

l didn't read his posts properly
He's beaten me to it in his reply above!!

But l had exactly the same issue with mine after inadvertently fitting a Puma clutch switch last year.
l've got the Nakatanenga cruise kit
No overdrive fitted.

Hi All,

Yes all up and running fine, was a puma clutch switch fitted, the issue is most Land Rover retailers list the clutch switch for Td5 and puma, but this is not the case.
Td5 requires the red switch and Puma is the white one.

Cheers
