Are the matrix LEDs the premium option in USA or a non-USA thing?

BRIGHTER LIGHTS. SAFER NIGHT‐TIME DRIVING Defender features all-round exterior LED lighting as standard. LED lights are designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle and are more fuel-efficient as they use less energy. Premium LED headlights1 2 with signature DRL produce a colour of light that is closer to daylight, helping you distinguish objects more easily and reduce driver fatigue. Driving at night or in poor visibility is made easier by Auto High Beam Assist which switches on automatically and dips for oncoming traffic. MATRIX LED HEADLIGHTS Matrix LED headlights2 with signature DRL enable an Adaptive Driving Beam. By splitting the main beam into vertical strips, the adaptive beam maximises the number of high beam sections for ultimate visibility, while casting a shadow over oncoming traffic to help to prevent dazzling. I have ordered mine with Matrix (delivery mid 2022) - also I have never seen it in reality.
If someone here has got Matrix and as willing to share a video on how it works in real life - that would be more than appreciated. Thanks |

Well I had Matrix LEDs with the SE package BUT dealer called me yesterday and said "no more Matrix LED available you'll get the Premium LED lights or do you want to cancel the order"
I said no cancelation I'll take the Premium LEDs I'll just get a set of Lazer Lamps looks cool ans makes more light.. 110 D250 SE Tasman Blue, white roof, black pack, advanced towing pack, rear diff locker, driver assist |

The only real difference with matrix lights is the ability to drive with full beam on without blinding oncoming traffic. I had it on my Velar, if the adaptive beam is switched off they ain’t much better than standard LEDs. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

Can't get the matrix LED's in the US; they're not approved by NHTSA (in anything).
Premium in the US is not the same. That's just a promo video, which promise everything but might be working differently in reality. I have had an Audi Q8 with Matrix which was great. My current Volvo had only auto high beam and that is far away for the matrix capability of the Audi. Therefore I'm looking for a real video of how the matrix works in the defender. |

I've got the Matrix LED on my D200 SE and I think they are brilliant, we have a lot of unlit country roads around here and like J77 says it's like driving with your main beam on all the time without blinding oncoming traffic. When they 1st started working I wasn't sure how they would react but if you have a car approaching you it just dims a section of the lights, it does feel wrong to be driving at people with the blue main beam light on but nobody flashed me to complain

On this pictures one sees the light is switching off on the left side of the bus to not blind the bus driver on the side mirror. Some seconds later the light switched off behind the bus.

Anyone on the fence about matrix LED lights…don’t be. They are brilliant. My first exposure was actually in my wife’s 2018 Mazda CX3, and they are absolute revelation.

I keep looking at that and see the area where the lights have switched off as being preferable to the areas where they are still on and there's just glare. Wouldn't ordinary dipped beam and some low placed fog lamps do a better job in those circumstances? |
