Nice, twin turbo and 8 speed auto ?
It's on my Christmas list but I suspect my budget will dictate an older version with the 6 speed auto. Looking forward to the video 😁 Enjoy ! Mo The Land Rover 90 - Many are called, few are chosen. 50 Shades of Pennine Grey |

Be really interested to hear how this goes. Hope you can share some approx costings so we know the ball park figure for this type of thing. If that's not too cheeky. Might be a route I want to look at also in the future.
Best of luck Mata with this exciting project. |

Answering a couple of questions;-
Firstly, the conversion is essentially complete. This is a single turbo engine, chose for cost, simplicity and better fitment. The turbo has been rebuilt with a bigger billet compressor and machined compressor housing however. Costs, I haven’t added up the total spent, much of it was collaboration / development with MW Machines, most of the finishing I did myself like wiring, auto console / cubby box, instrument pack display. I believe a turnkey conversion with 6 speed starts around 14k + vat but the question really is how longs a piece of string as I’ve also got rear and centre LSD upgrades, HD half shafts… the list goes on and you can quickly get carried away…! |

Looks a very neat installed, especially like the display in the dash looks OEM. Does the D2 indicate gear? If so why does it start in D2 not D1 and is it me it did it skip D2 to D4 to D5? Just curious.
I look forward to some more oomph videos onces it;s all beded in James MY2012 110 2.2TDCi XS SW Orkney Grey - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic43410.html MY1990 110 200TDi SW beautifully faded Portofino Red - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post743641.html#743641 MY1984 90 V8 Slate Grey - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post744557.html#744557 Instagram @suffolk_rovers |

Land Rover Automatic
Looks very neat already from the driver seat. I think the D3 was hidden by the steering spoke. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

I've got the gearbox set up to set off in gear 2 in drive and sport, gear 1 in manual mode. Although gear 1 isn't quite as short as in the Puma MT82 manual box it is still very short. Gear 2 in the ZF8HP is between 1 and 2 in the Puma, which is perfect IMO for road driving - i would often set off ingear 2 with the manual box, which always felt a smidge too high.
It wouldn't have missed gear 3, i guess it was hidden by the steering wheel as suggested. Thanks for the interest, will do another video when its stopped raining. |
