I fitted extended wheel studs for both the wolf style and ANR rims. Whilst apparently OK I wasn't happy with the nut only half on. James

Not sure what your issue was, as the stud should fully engage with your standard LR steel wheel nut thread as you can see here… Click image to enlarge As for the over tightening statement not sure what relevance that has to length of stud, but there’s a simple solution there don’t over tighten them 😉 |

The nuts didn't engage like that on mine. I'd be happy with that photo. I had 2 - 3 clear threads showing on the nut. James

The rule of thumb is that the length of usable thread should equal the diameter of the stud = 16mm on a LR
It doesn’t make any difference if the stud does not reach the end of the nut, I see this quite often on commercial vehicles that I inspect/repair |

Steel wheel nuts tend to vary in size/depth.....

👍👍 Good to know
That’s weird, personally I’ve only seen that issue on series hubs, not had an issue with length of studs on 2x TD5’s, 1x TDCi and 2x RRC’s (above pic) hubs with the thicker Wolf rims - but that’s not much of an extensive list, but it probably covers most of the hubs used with this stud pattern on LR’s for the last 35 years. I know you get different stud lengths aftermarket, even though they have the same part number, but I had assumed factory stud length would have been consistent. If that’s not the case, then it’s a bit of a lottery whether they will fit or not. It would be useful, to have a minimum length of stud needed posted on here. Then folks can measure theirs and know for sure if they’ll fit without changing out studs prior to purchase. |

Click image to enlarge Hi all, This is a picture of an original Heritage Edition Defender I do not know if this Special Edition model was build with longer studs than the normal Defender when equipping the Wolf rims as standard, but it seems that the nuts & studs are OK. Another question between Wolf & Nakas, does the turning circle gets worse with Nakas with 265 vs Wolf with 235? Or because of the Naka’s ET0 with 265 the turning circle is equal to the original wolf’s with 235? Thanks a lot to all!! |

Hello,
In the end I have made a decision, maybe a little weird but it is in relation to the color of my car. The car now is Santorini Black, I like this color but I love green Defenders and I have doubts whether to change the color of my car to Keswick Green. My doubts are if in case my Defender will lose value because it will not be the original color, but that's another story ... If I decide to paint her in Keswick, I will go for a more classic look and opt for a genuine Wolf with 235 tire size. If I keep her in Santorini Black, she will have a more aggressive touch and I think a 265 tire size would suit it better with the Naka’s Classic. For all that I have been able to read in this great forum, I believe that being ET0 wheels will not affect the car's turning circle by increasing the tire's size. I attach a photo of how my car is actually, with a Dual Finish Wheels and tire size 235. I promise photos of the final result! Again, I would like to thank you for all the help you have given me both in this thread and in the entire forum itself. All the best! |

I have the Nakatanenga's with 265/75 KM3's. Love them.
Can I ask what pressures people are running with this tyre size? 110 DCPU Mark |

Finished in Santorini Black. Look awesome in the flesh but not the easiest colour to photograph.
Wrington Engineering nuts set them off. Originall on factory Wolf's with Goodyear MTR's. 110 DCPU Mark |

Hello Mark,
Your Defender looks stunning!!! Did you notice any worse in the turning circle when you swapped the Wolfs for the Nakas? They look beautiful in black with the white car |

Thank you.
Literally fit them today. Initially i went for satin black but changed to Santorini. Really happy with them, although black doesn’t come across well in photos. I’ll have to update you on how they drive once I have an opportunity to take her for a drive. 110 DCPU Mark |
