BlackVue has more functions and its design looks better. Plus you have have 1 cam for more cars.
The higher models can send videos and pictures via 4G network. So anywhere you are you can observe your car. 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history) |

There is an optional battery pack available which gives you additional 12 hours surveillance but I think the whole BlackVue system works hardwired too with the car battery. Plus is has electronics to switch itself off in case the car battery power falls below a certain level.
For me the dashcam is only necessary if Iām in a place with a lot of people for some hours. So the car battery should be enough. Though Iā m not sure if it works this way. I want to put the BlackBue 900 model with the LTE functionality in my Defender. 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history) |

I am wondering - if installed on P400e - can the dashcam draw power from the 19.2kWh battery of the electric motor? This would give extended power in parking mode....

Thats 48V? or is that just the MHEV thats 48V? but with suitable transformer and wiring - I would assume its possible.... but you would need proper advise..

I have the LR dashcam installed.
It is integrated into the loom by the interior mirror. It monitors the state of the car battery in Parking mode and defaults to only recording if it senses a jolt if the car battery charge falls too low. Eventuall if the car battery gets too low it switches off completely. I am happy with this. |
