Twisted P10 Upgrade? Intercooler & Exhaust System
Hi,

Dont know if anyone has one of these upgrades from Twisted but is it worth it?

Want a better remap on my defender and exhaust system - Can anyone recommend anything similar?

This upgrade includes an intercooler

Just dont want the transit van sound and want more of a louder exhaust.

Thanks
Charlotte

The only way the Puma engine won't sound like a Transit is to swap it for something else but a louder exhaust will cover it up a bit. Lots of different options out there but Twisted are as good as most, although a bit more pricey. WARNING.

In agreement with everything Zed said. I personally have never come across a puma defender that didn't sound like a transit sadly. Stuart

As Zed said, the engine will always sound like a transit, but you can at least make the exhaust note sound better. Stainless steel, decat, egr blank, wider bore. Demand Engineering are most people's 'go-to' on here. And then buy your own intercooler, hoses and remap from Alive Tuning or Bell Auto Services. You'll get the same performance, sound, fuelling improvements etc doing it this way, but for a lot less money than buying a bundle from Twisted. Dave Bell considered the industry leader in remapping. Some people do think a good remap smooths out the industrial nature of the TDCi, but that might be subjective/placebo effect. Also, if you want to get rid of some of the transit sound, consider sound proofing your interior. Not a huge difference, but every little helps. You can also sound proof the engine bay, but I've never stood alongside one that's been done to know if it makes much difference when outside the cab. Monsieur Le Grenadier

Pete Bell for map and intercooler. Demand, twisted or others for the exhaust.

Has anyone done the soundproofing of the engine bay on a Puma 2.4?
I´m interestet, if there is a noticeable difference inside the cab...
