Don’t think this was about pushing the brand, but about getting a few bums in the seats to give feedback as to its practically and function of the vehicle. Got a test drive across various terrain , and able to ask questions, then at the end had a debrief with them about it. Such as internal finishes, ride comfort, practicality, layout, and that sort of thing. They know this isn’t the finished item, and want to get it right. It was obvious that they are still in development and altering things. For instance the transfer box gear knob was chunk of billet ali, with a button on as they are modifying it.

Is that colour as good in person as in the pictures? Looking good. If it's capable and looks great, whats not to like... Cool

The test drive was brilliant. A lot removed from the “real” driving experience of a proper Defender, but think that is always going t be the way with modern engin, gearbox and setup. To me it was rugged and simple like a dDef, but had the comfort and ease to drive like a D3’s or 4 auto, but not all the plastic and complicated stuff that constantly goes wrong.

Big grass slopes up, and down with ease. Even gear changes on the up. Driving across ploughed fields where you just kept going faster, and when you got to about 50mph it all went smooth.

Vehicle looked great, only thing I disliked was the bonnet for me as too G wagon. I’d prefer flat.

Yes Standon calling stuff all gone, that happens real quick whilst all the free entrance staff are there and fields returned to farming. This event was in different fields to the festival.

The colour is a really dark deep purple.
