I heard a rumour about this a few months ago. It’s a great idea. I just finished a cross-country drive of Canada and once you get out of a heavily populated area, the number of tractor/agri-equipment dealers is staggering. This could be a great model to getting the car into the hands of users and having a service network. If it works in Aus, it will work in Canada for similar reasons (big country, lots of rural industry).

This could work well. I bet the Grenadier is actually no more complex than the very latest John Deere or Caterpillar. They have all rage emissions gear, ecus etc just like cars. It’s probably much simpler in many departments. I wouldn’t mind if they adopted the same model here in UK. My experience with BMW dealers is not exactly good so I hope we don’t need to go there. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Yes Victorian number plate on the service ute. Must be Melb airport.
All the crash test decals, I wonder if it will end up being used by ANCAP for safety tests? Ineos must have taken onboard some feedback about the front aesthetic judging by the painting at the front. Credit to Ineos for showing so much of the Genedier and the process of getting it out there. |

Watching an Australian You Tube Channel the other day and they were saying that that new sales for the 70 series may soon be pushed out to an 18 month waiting list.
Not so much a question as to if the Grenadier can fill the gap in sales but to whether the vehicle can be adapted in the same way for outback travel, ie, tray back, overland rear boxes, extending the chassis……. Otherwise current 70 owners may well hang on to what they have. But I have to agree their strategy will do more for sales than relying on being trailered back to a main dealer for a fix a la JLR, especially when the vehicle is out of warranty and the owner is footing the bill for a multi day recovery…… |

looks like rust - any mud would have to have been removed for it to pass quarantine on import to aus. Everything gets steam cleaned to within an inch of its life to get into Aus.

There was also talk in one of the news articles that test drives would be allow proper off road test driving and not just on tarmac, which is a good change.
