According to my sales rep, my P400e is now waiting to be shipped to Finland. Hopefully I get my car soon, ordered it late January. 22MY Defender 110 P400e SE w/ Off-Road Pack, Driver Assist Pack, Cold Climate Pack, Comfort & Convenience Pack + ClearSight Rear-View Mirror & 11.4" Infotainment Screen

Hi Defender-V8

I have a quick question.... how have you gone about running in your P400e? For standard Diesel/Petrol engine Defenders there is a running in period of 3,000km which is obviously easy to track using the odometer. However, as hopefully the majority of driving in a P400e will be done using the battery and electrical motors, rather than the petrol engine, how do you track running in of the petrol engine, is there a separate odometer reading just for the petrol engine?

Cheers

Just been told that mine has been unslotted... supposedly most PHEVs and lots of other defenders have been indefinitely pushed back...

getting very old, this... Cheers, David

I received my P400e in 26 August. It was built as I specced it, so it has the ClearSight mirror, 11.4" screen and full LCD instrument panel, for example. 1600km down the road now and it's been immensely great car. One time the cameras did not initialize, but this fixed itself when I returned to the car next time. So, I don't count that as a real problem. Otherwise not a single real fault yet.

I received my first stone chip on the windscreen after 600km so that was just bad luck. Luckily it hit the passenger side and could be fixed with resin. I have the ClearPlex windscreen protection film installed now. Let's hope it does its job when the rocks start flying again. 22MY Defender 110 P400e SE w/ Off-Road Pack, Driver Assist Pack, Cold Climate Pack, Comfort & Convenience Pack + ClearSight Rear-View Mirror & 11.4" Infotainment Screen

Pleased for you guys! Seems orders from the continent seem to be doing rather better than for the UK market…

Nonetheless, super excited because I managed to find a p400e ex-demo for sale, that I’m planning to run until my build comes!

Here it is on test drive up in Newcastle!

Just getting used to It.
Just taken delivery of an S trim in Black. Very pleased so far. It really feels like a
mix of an updated Disco 4 and the old Defender. Swapped from a Disco 5 and immediately this is more comfortable in the front and rear. Much easier to place on the road, I have to pass through miles of restricted width lanes at the moment and the Disco 5 felt like piloting a whale by comparison. If you are swapping from an old Defender 110 or Discovery 3/4/5 you're going to notice that reduction in boot space and load length. Especially as there's the jack and cable strapped down over the battery hump.
I haven't driven it far, just my commute but I noticed in hybrid mode when I accelerated hard the engine kicked in but it wouldn't return to ev mode even with plenty of battery. I had to turn off the car to restore ev mode. I checked that start/ stop was engaged. Anyone know what was happening there?

Mine did (does) the same. On the way back from collecting it the car wouldn't use the electric motors when in Hybrid mode and refused to go into EV mode. I stopped the car and restarted it and then all seemed fine. I went back to the dealers anyway and explained the issue. I was told this was normal and would likely happen for the first few hundred kms as the car beds itself in. They themselves had experienced it with all PHEV demonstrators (Evoque and RR) and they ran them off 500km before actually using them as demonstrators to ensure the HYBRID/EV/SAVE mode could be demonstrated correctly as and when required. It seems the car prefers to use the petrol engine to bed itself in before optimising use of the electric motors. Current: MY22 P400e SE

And maybe a Discovery/130 competitor in the near future:

These guys really are hitting the ground running with these models.

It's hard to see how a JLR product on an MLA platform can compete against such bespoke platforms.
