new MT tyres
ive been running cooper stt for the last 7 years and im worried that although they have only covered 22k that the compound may be starting to weaken

i really like coopers although ive read the stt pro only has Q rating , i dont fly about but 70-80 on the motorway has to be done sometimes

what are the mt options at the moment please , i really want MT i prefer the look (yes i know) any advice gratefully received chaps !

BFG KM3’s, I’m on KM2’s at the moment and I’m happy. They are popular for a reason as are the ATR versions ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

I’m a few weeks into a set of 255/85 KM3s and, for a mud tire, they’re pretty great all around. Roaming around 🇳🇴🇨🇭

After nearly half a million miles on two vehicles on original KMs, KM2s, and now KM3s, I have never had a moment's dissatisfaction with any of them and have no intention of changing.

One of the world's greatest tyres. As BFG used to say (before it became politically incorrect) "we put de tyres under Defender".

Q speed rating is 100mph, perfectly adequate for most defenders.

Some sizes of Cooper STT Pro are rated much lower, ie less than 70mph, that would concern me.
K = 68mph

As an alternative, how about the Falken Wildpeak MT01, speed rated Q and around £120 each?
That pattern of tyre is standard fitment on some Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators. If it's good enough for 285bhp on a part time 4x4 transmisson then should be OK.
I've not tried the MT myself, but the Falken AT3AW (3 peak winter rated) is high on the list for the next set on my 110.

I really did not know where to go I apologize if this is the wrong forum. I have a 1985 LR 90 and at some point someone changed the rear out and gave me disc brakes so now I have 4 wheel disc will I be able to put the boost alloys on w/o the spacers ?? thanks in advance for your replies

Check the front axle if it has the thick or thin drive members. If it is still 1985 front axle, then it is the thick drive member, and you would have to put a spacer. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

I'm on km3.
Being quite silent at the beginning, they become noisier. Definitely noisy on motorways Shocked .

No other issues though. 3 years / 45 K kms / 20% off road Thumbs Up

I was in the same boat recently needing a new set of tyres, I went for the Toyo open country mt in 255/85/16. I just couldn’t justify the km3 at very nearly twice the price. The toyo mt has been around for a while now and you can find lots of reviews online by trawling the forums and also on youtube. I paid £98+vat each for them and they both look and perform really well. 2006 TD5110 station wagon

I’m running the Wildpeak ATs on my 130 at the moment and they are excellent. Great value, good grip in the wet, been used in the mud and performed well. 2011 130 Utility Body
