Which one, factory option is mild off-road Goodyear Wrangler Adventurer A/T but there is also another dealer fit option if you look at the drop down/ info box on the configurator and that is the more aggressive GoodYear Wrangler Duratrac A/T
I went from the OEM Pirelli All Seasons to the Duratracs and while there is a tiny bit more road noise it isn’t very noticeable and more importantly my fuel consumption hasn’t increased any. Drawback (not that it should be an issue with a 70mph National speed limit ) is the Duratracs most easily purchased here are the Q speed rated ones that are 99mph maximum speed, there is also an H rated 120mph version but none of the tyre sellers around here have been able to find any in the U.K. I’ve now done 9000 miles on the 20” Duratracs with only one issue - the sidewalls are quite thin and easily ripped open and I shredded one of mine driving a deep rut with what looked like flints in the dirt. There isn’t much choice of off road tyres in 19” but a bigger choice it you go down to 18” A few people are running BFG KO A/Ts in 265/55/20 Click image to enlarge Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Thanks Tim, your comments are appreciated. I'm thinking of the Adventurer, rather than Duratracs, as not likely to do much off road stuff. Just nice to have the option, without having too much influence on road comfort.

Road comfort isn’t an issue with more knobbly tyres if you have air suspension as it damps out the effect of the treads on tar at speed. I have the factory fit ones, can’t say they’re anymore noisier than my Discos were on all seasons. Ride comfort seems fine, I’m running on coil suspension.

AT Adventures are standard tyre in Australia, no discernible road noise, then again i have been running
AT's even on our RRS's, so most probably do not notice. Side walls are pretty "weak" and there have been a number of reports on the FB Owners group of sidewall damage on both the AT's and Duratracs when off roading.. For my sins i will be forking out a shed full of cash to move my P400 to 18" wheels in the coming months and fitting with a decent off road tyre (Falken WIldpeak AT3W) yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |

I have Air Suspension and the Adventurers and really don't notice any road noise from the tyres.
With the aerodynamics of a brick, I find wind noise is a much greater contributor to cabin noise. Get the Adventurers, they're a good compromise. |

They’re fine on the road, quiet and efficient.
Off road the tread is okay in terms of grip, but they’re made of cheese and are completely unsuitable to any kind of rocky terrain or even gravel roads. They also only lasted about 32k before they wore out which is pretty poor. I changed to BFG ATs which cost me 2-3mpg and a bit more noise but at least they’re properly robust. |

Hi Retro. Can you elaborate: did you have the GY Adventure or the Duratrac before? I am a BFG fan and intended fitting them to mine but the duratracs are landrover recommended so though I’d stick with those as it would avoid any potential hassle with warranty claims if needed. However, 32k is pretty poor. I’ve done 45k in my other BFG AT2s and they probably have another 30k left in them.

It’s the factory-fit Adventures that I had. Sliced a sidewall first on a green lane in Wales, and then a stone went straight through the tread on a forest road.
I get c. 70k out of a set of BFGs on the old 90 and while I wouldn’t expect the same on the much bigger, heavier and faster 110 I’d ideally want at least 40-50k. They’ve been on 4 months and done 13k so far with no problems. |
