@leeloo
Oh I‘m shocked to hear you did not get what you ordered. Tomorrow I will see my dealer (rear light replacement on my Disco Sport) I hope I can clearify missing or changing parts on my ordered Defender. 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history) |

@cyberhusky My advice is make sure that in what over order was sent from the delearship to factory to check if the air suspension is mentioned specifically with a code, even if it is not charged because you made the order before this became a thing. That is the information I have.
My case was taken over by the sales manager now, he told me what ever I decide to order, every detail I will speak with him directly and he will follow everything personally and update me at every step. I did not want to compromise, plus if indeed it does not take more than 6 months to get something else, it will be ok. Holiday season is over, and I do not plan any major trips until May next year, except maybe a few days in the winter, and I can take my daily driver for that. I am leaning more and more towards a disco, the trunk is a lot more practical. Since I had the defender for a camping week-end, I realized I will have to change almost every bit I have as camping equipment for something more compact, have 2/3 of the back seat folded down all the time, get us much as possible outside the car ( we are a family of 3 and I kind of need the back seat for long trips) I do not like to have everything hanging outside the car for many reasons. The only thing I am worried about with the disco are the 20 inch wheels, but I think I can fit 19 inch on the P360. Defender P300 on order |

Would the issue be more about interior space than the suspension and the suspension is a useful get out clause? You already mentioned it had a magic carpet ride and it doesn’t sound like too much off roading is going to be happening.

Short answer no. If not for the suspension, I would have found some ways to deal with the trunk space
I have 2 cars, a daily driver that I keep outside and the hobby car that stays in the garage, the daily driver parked blocking the garage entrance. So that would mean I would have to move the Defender out of the way every day, get the daily driver out, park again the defender. And I would have to do this 2 times per day, 5 days per week minimum. This is not something I am willing to do. Suspension was a bigger issue. A defender with air suspension set in access mode barely clears my door. One with coils has no chance of getting in. So even if I could get over the reduced off road capability, comfort and convenience, this thing alone makes it impossible for me to keep it. About the trunk size. I had wagons before, a Prado J120. Similar size but more usable trunk space, but still a wagon basically. as I explained I have seen the trunk before, I knew it was small, I had some plans to deal with it. But it is one thing to "guesstimate", and another thing to chuck it full of crap and actually test it. So now that I have done that and basically I get a second chance to think it over, why not spend some time on it ? . Biggest downside for the Disco are the approach angles, but I lived with them before, I had pick up( not the best departure angle on any of them) and I did fine. Second one is the 20 inch wheels. This is the only thing that is holding me back atm. Never had flat in the last 12 years and honestly I don't miss them at all About offroading... hmm.. how much is a lot ? It is a bit relative. Last trip I went to Slovenia, Croatia ( just passed trough it ) , Montenegro and Albania . Almost 30 days in total, and I think at least 17 days of that I did some off tracks. Is it a lot ? maybe not, but for sure a lot more than others. I do not look for the biggest ditch, just scenic routes to get to the nice remote places, but I travel alone ( no second car ) and I have to be prepared, things happen. Weather changes in the mountains, info about a track that was listed moderate in 2008, can have very difficult bits in 2020 after a storm ripped apart some of the track, and so on ( It happened to me pretty often, I have no other source for tracks but wikiloc, not the most reliable thing.. ) So I had my share of difficult experiences without looking for them. Some people enjoy spending time digging and winching, I can do it but is not something I am looking forward to do. Got stuck a few times, got myself out, had been in some dangerous situations, I was in places where a major break down would be a risky thing to have .. but so far I managed ok. I also do week-end trips , when the weather is good, but is close to home, not a lot of to ahul arround, you have support, you can call someone to get you out, is different.. Defender P300 on order |

Today the dealer showed me what is being built on my Defender: 11,4" PiviScreen, Air suspension and all the options I ordered. Next week I will know more. But he also said: "let's hope LR hasn't changed anything, I can't see that on my system." 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history) |

Not very comforting. But better . On my order, the air suspension was listed under the standard features of the car, not part of a pack or on the list of extra's, hence the big issue.. Defender P300 on order

Interesting. I thought VISTA was the LR system. If it says it in VISTA, isn’t that what they are building? I ask because I’ve just been told mine has been committed to Build, and all the right features are there. i even have the CCC code, which apparently means all the parts are available and allocated.

I am just conveying what I was told.
In my particular situation, my order came in the moment they were making the transition from MY 2021 to MY 2022. The guy also told me the software was full of bugs in that period. Also this is particular. for the Belgium Luxembourg area, that have a common importer and website. Here we don't get any updates from JLR. once the commitment it is made. Not sure why but I guess is different from country to country. Even now the configuration tool is absolutely full of BS and false information. I don't know anything about what they use internally. It might be all just a smoke screen to cover pure incompetence . For example, after 6 months if you go to the configurator. https://buildyour.landrover.be/lr2/r/inter...-p300_sp0/ the full digital dash shows as a free option. We all know that is an extra that comes at a price, in Benelux is approx 750 euro.. Nowhere is mentioned in the price list, brochure, configurator etc that coils are default and air suspension is an extra with a cost of 2200 euro, even now after 6 months. ....just 2 examples, I am sure there are many more If their internal tool is half as screwed up ... no wonder... Hi Leeloo
I wasn’t suggesting you were wrong, just wondering whether VISTA is definitive or not. In Australia, we get a complete VISTA printout that shows literally every component of the order. I know there have been digital driver display cancellations by JLR on orders here, although it seems to be only on base models and S models so far (that I know of). Our configurator has also gone through periods of being wrong, but it lasts a couple of weeks and then seems to be corrected. The 22MY brochure is out of date now. I guess the global supply chain problem is making it very hard to meet the original specifications for MY22. I will be interested to see if my build goes ahead exactly as ordered. That’s why I mentioned the CCC designation, which I’ve been told means that all the equipment needed for the order is available. I’ll find out if it actually means that, I guess. Interestingly, I placed my order in July, but it is actually listed as having been placed in May on VISTA. I’m thinking I might have received an order that was already in the system. Build date is still 24/9 though… |

The printout I received and I signed with the dealer, came from their software at the time 02 April 2021 was also with many errors.
At the list of standard features, both types of suspension are mentioned, coils and air suspension - of course it is impossible to have both - and this is why they accepted to take the car back with no questions asked. That was the only paper I signed. I told the dealer that look here it says coils I want make sure it will be air springs - No worries it is a software error it comes with air suspension by default.. Are you sure.. yes yes.. no problem. And that was the last conversation I had about the options... I did received an OR with a different number via email that I need it for tax purpose, after the car was in the their lot already( ! week before the hand over ) not signed by anyone, just a PDF where only coils are mentioned. ( I did not even looked at it, the car was there, no point on checking anything but the price , but now I looked at it again and there on the list, only coil springs showed up.. ) Defender P300 on order |

Quick question. My car was committed to build with the last date to change passing on the 1/9/21 The next I received an email confirming everything including a ‘built’ date of 1/10/21. This week they appear to have moved it again, pushing it back to November. Surely once it’s confirmed it’s in the slot for a build ?
