Yes some serious orange peel effect on the Defender. I am not brave enough to correct the paint at that level yet. Mermoto |

Guess they must hand paint them just before hand building then :-)
Actually my D3 was the same in Black , maybe that was why Ford got rid of them , because they can't do black and Henry wasn't happy 2011 Defender XS 110 Station Wagon - Rejected 2008 Discovery 3 XS Auto (Gone) 1997 Discovery ES Auto 300TDI (Traded in on a flat bed) |

hope Zag has seen this
I noticed on you engine bay picture that there is a pipe at the back on the right that is close to the engine hoist bracket, make sure this is well away as they can rub a hole in the rubber and you'll have a whole load more cleaning to do (serious) there are threads on this Blacks not my colour, but your truck is a beauty |

how on earth did you get the engine bay so clean ? Mine's only 2 months old and its filthy ! I think that, like Zag, there could be an opportunity for a little valeting business on the side here. Very impressive

Top job Mermoto, very nice Good idea to spray ACF-50 on your common rail and as BPman says watch the red engine hoist bracket - best to take it off altogether as it will come lose anyway in time
