On a US based forum, they are saying that builds before September 13th are not affected by the digital dash downgrade. So hopefully you'll be ok with yours, as it should be on truck by then. Defender 90 HSE 250D 2022MY - Gave up after two failed orders

My dealer just called to advise about the dash downgrade. Option to go with analogue dash and keep build date for October or stick with digital dash and go back into the holding pool. Estimated 14-18 month wait. I think I’ve had enough TBH

I'm getting to the same opinion. It's not even a nice analogue alternative. It seems more like a half-and-half bodge, that the likes of the utility company fleet buyers wouldn't be bothered about, so they just have what's cheapest. For the rest of us, its ugliness in a good incentive to pay the ~£500 upgrade, to take the bare plastic edges away.

It seems contemptuous customer relations on the part of JLR to not even offer a discount for a feature that has been paid for, but won't be supplied. And in the US it seems, to threaten that if you don't accept it, you risk paying the price increase on the 23MY version.

I'll either keep waiting until something better replaces it, and in the meantime have a serious think about getting a different vehicle altogether, as I don't want to look at this each time I'm driving.

I think I would cancel, unless it had an offer to refit when available. Its a 70k car and the default is a digital interactive dash.

So mine will not be delivered on 27.09. The week before they called me told me the car arrived. We made arrangements for all the details regarding the exiting car I am trading in as part of the deal, started the process to register the car, etc..
I ask them them if can I see it ... yeah but we keep them outside the city , here we don't have enough room bla blabla..
On Monday I get a email that the car did not actually arrive yet at the dealership.. Smile and that is in Antwerp waiting to clear customs.. and at the end of the email a Thank you Brexit.. Smile
I am like wtf what customs, what UK ... what the hell.. they are manufactured in Slovakia...

If their service department is as organized... Most likely I will do all my servicing next door in Germany...
I am not even sure why I did not bought it there, I guess I was afraid a bit of the additional paperwork... Defender P300 on order

Took delivery yesterday around 15.00. At 17.00 I was already packed for week end camping trip and on the way.
First impressions - I love it. Engine is peppy, you can overtake easy, air suspension rides like a magic carpet, and is very quiet.
While I was packing it became very clear that my Aussie swags will take half of the car. So back to normal tent + self inflatable mattress.
So far everything seems to work. Yesterday the start stop seem to be dead and I was not waisting any tears on it, I was hoping it would stay dead, but not my luck
Next week- end I start the long process of small mods for camping trips. On this one I just improvised something
The space under the trunk seems large enough for my Lifepo4 battery, that is good news .
I just got delivery of a fold down table before I left, that will go in first.
The only gripe, no surprise there, the trunk is a joke for a car this size, is almost worth to the the 7 seats option to push the second row so you can gain some more usable space
So some creative packing will be required Defender P300 on order

My dealer called me today: he's got a VIN number for my Defender. Car will be in Belgium next week, will have it by end of September. Very Happy
OTOH he also said I don't trust the infos the computer shows! Rolling Eyes 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history)

Well, today I returned the car, i discovered it is missing a very important option and for me this is a no go.
Basically, they forgot to spec the air suspension..
Apparently between the time I ordered it and when it actually went to the factory, the coils are now the default config even on the 110 ( at least in Luxembourg, Belgium area ) and air suspension is an extra and you pay about 2k euro to have it. Of course no word on the configuration tool or brochure, price list.. or listed anywhere else.
Somehow this got lost, they did not mange the order well at all.
Loved the car over the week-end, but, this makes it unusable for me.
What can you do with 22 cm of ground clearance with independent suspension... this is a subaru forester level.. wtf.. I don't understand how can advertise this as an off-roader with the coils.. and one of the best in the world they say

Anyway the dealer took it back, the sale will be canceled.
So now I have to order again .. another 6 months or more..
After this debacle, of course they will make a serious discount..
After living with the car for the week-end I am seriously considering to go my initial choice, a Disco 5. I went for the defender because in the disco you can have the transfer case with the low gears only on the p360. The trunk is much better and more usable in the disco.
So, a difficult choice. I ahve a few days to think it over and I scheduled another drive test next Saturday with a Disco.. Defender P300 on order

Nothing wrong with the coils, but understand the disappointment, it’s not what you ordered. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue
