Mine 240DSE came without Matrix, I was too tight to pay the extra thinking modern LED headlights were good and with the signature LED everything would be fine as it had fog lights already.
How wrong!!! I ended up spending a load of cash at Lazer Lamps for the Triple R 1250with intelligent low beam assist light bar which is great and fully integrated. There is a drawback however in that the semi recessed light bar in the front lower grill blocks part of the camera view of tge ground looking forwards. I was unaware of this at install and after raising the issue Lazer now discloses this issue. So its a toss up as to what to do. If I were spending time off road and needing the projection through the bonnet effect to see whats going on between the front wheel I could quickly remove the lamp but as most of my journeys are on country lanes, i value the better illumination more. Apparently the light bar can't be recessed more because it would interfere with the opening of the radiator flaps. The other solution I have thought is to design a new housing for the camera to bring that forward to clear the light bar obstruction. Unfortunately I don't have a 3D printer or scanner. If you have the roof rack you could always go with an install onto that which avoids my problems. 2020 Defender 110 SE 240D: Fuji White. 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE 2007 Freelander2 HSE (man) |

Hello,
thanks for your answer, so if I understand correctly, your Defender has fog lights, do they have a corner function? in my case in a tight curve at night you can't see anything in the corner ....... does any person in the forum have the same problem as me? It would be very interesting to have the wiring diagram of the front fog light cabling to find out if the fog lights ignition commands arrive at the front cable harness connector. sorry my bad english ....... thank you all. best regards Marco |

No corner function. They are fixed. However they do provide for a wide spread of light on the side of the road. I use them at night on country roads for that purpose. 2020 Defender 110 SE 240D: Fuji White.
