Time to speak to the Mrs. I know what I want to do because there was no offer, apart from take it or wait.

Just had a quick look at the X5 45e, so an option, but I'm in no rush so could just go back into the holding pool. I can just keep using my T5

I think I would cancel, unless it had an offer to refit when available. Its a 70k car and the default is a digital interactive dash.

TBH I think If I was spending £70k id agree. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

The digital dash adds no value but I’d be asking for £500 discount or free first service.

i'm assuming they are removing the £500 cost of the digital dash!

Well the Mrs said she wasnt overly fussed (never really looks at the dials anyway) but wanted reinbursement.

So the option is £500 reinbursement or wait, for the Defender or an alternative to appear. I suspect I may pull out at the first price rise that it is passed on.

My understanding is that there is no refund of the price difference.

It's a seller's market with both new and used cars at the moment, and prices increasing. So they can probably get away with it.

With the rising market in mind I did briefly think about keeping my slot and reselling it once bought, as nearly new vehicles seem to be selling for higher prices than the retail price of the short supply new versions. But then the thought of having to deal with handling a £70k+ sale from the driveway seemed like it was inviting too many problems. Defender 90 HSE 250D 2022MY - Gave up after two failed orders

It was an optional extra on my build,
I’m not paying for something they can’t fit.

Just oddly received an response from the dealer:

Quote:
‘If your customer is happy to take the vehicle with the Analogue Dials, then please advise that the customer will accept the change. Please note that there is no adjustment to vehicle pricing.’

Interesting to note a slightly different response to the "I'll wait" option.

The further communication from Land Rover also stated that these orders would be prioritised so naturally, we hope we will get some more specific news on the revised build progress and dates before too much longer.

Luckily mine is apparently built so got the digital dash. Asked my wife anyway, what would you do if the car came with this dash, she replied what’s the difference?

Interesting comments. At least it sounds like those of us choosing to wait it out, aren't being sent right to the back of the queue . Defender 90 HSE 250D 2022MY - Gave up after two failed orders

After a nights sleep I decided to go ahead with the analogue dash but also order another one. If residuals are still strong I’ll sell this one and take the new one.

If it’s optional then you won’t be charged, I think if it’s standard then they aren’t amending the price. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

Hopefully my P400e is spared… can’t really see how you can have the PHEV without it? Anyone heard anything? Cheers, David
