I have a set of Irwin bolt grips that have always got me out of trouble when I’ve come across rounded bolt heads. Whether they would have worked in this instance I don’t know but I’ve used them with a breaker bar and with my Milwaukee impact wrench and I’m pretty certain the bolt would have sheared before they let go.
