Most recent clunking subject discussed on this thread too:
https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic79793.html About the rattle, do you know what clutch has been put in? I believe some clutches has more or less damping even when in neutral (the gearbox is spinning when in neutral.. just none of the gears is locked to the mainshaft). 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Hi, I had exactly the same issue, it appears to be the output shaft. It's a wellknown issue for the puma's as well as the rattling clutch. I brought it in for repair last week after I have been driving it for one year with above sypmtoms, that was not so smart
Output shaft and clutch have been replaced for new, now it drives very smoothly without any clunk or rattling.. Had: Defender 90 TD5 2001 - 225.000 km Defender 110 TD5 - 2000 - 120.000 Have: Defender 90 Puma 2.4 2010 - 211.000 km Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/landrover_diary/ |
