The Jimny is a cracker...but incredibly small inside! We sold ours for a profit! The space inside was just inadequate. the older Jimnys had a high/low transfer box, whereas the newer ones up until the re-design had an electronic switch.
We have a Vauxhall Mokka, too, the 4x4 version. It's our second Mokka - we like them that much. It's such a perfect car, it really is. It will happily take five adults, yet is small enough to get into spaces; the Elite version we have comes with ALL the extras including really comfortable seats. We have the petrol-auto. And we have the 4x4 system which switches to four wheel drive when it detects slip from the front wheels. I can't rate the Mokka highly enough, and given the sheer number of them, you can pick up exactly the colour and type you want. Although old and cheap now, the best 4x4 I have ever owned was the Shogun SWB petrol. Just absolutely fantastic. I remember going out during that snowstorm we had down south around ten years ago or more. It was unstoppable. The 4x4 version of the Yeti is good, but you'll pay for it. Now left. |

Why bother with a 4x4 just because of a handful of times a year? One of the best vehicles we've had for snow and in the winter was a front wheel drive Suzuki Swift. 250k miles with just the odd service and plenty of abuse until rust finally got hold of it. Engine still runs sweet as a nut. Ed 82 Hotspur Sandringham 6x6 95 Defender 110 300Tdi |

Panda 4x4 Cross, the good lady has had one for 6 years and loves it. Also used to visit the sheep on our top ground. It will go places my 90 will falter at, due to weight. Get a petrol with winter pack, if you can find one, great fun!!

Who owns the track? Is it all that bad? Money spent on improving a few patches might yield a better dividend? |
