2.2 TDCI Vacuum pump question
Hi anyone with in-depth knowledge of the vacuum pump on a 2.2 TDCI

The vacuum pump fitted to the rear of the Ford 2.2 TDCI engine part number ford BK3Q-2A451-DA or LR LR029681
has two outlets, one is 9.89mm and is connected to the brake servo, the other is 7.89mm and has a blanking plug fitted to it.

Can the smaller 7.89mm outlet that has a blanking plug fitted to it be used for a secondary vacuum supply whilst still using the other larger outlet for the brake servo?

Thanks in advance

I guess depends how much leakage the 2nd connection would create. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

It’s a relatively small pump, so as Dinnu says, it would depends on what you want to use it for. I’d be surprised if there is any extra capacity, but having said that it might be worth cross referencing with a transit workshop manual to see if they already run 2 systems from it.

On my 2.4 the pump generates a surprising amount of vacuum (put your thumb over the pipe when it's running Shocked )

The servo doesn't need a huge vacuum so I would suggest it would run a secondary vacuum provided it doesn't need a huge volume. I'll be interested to hear if it works > 110 XS Double Cab

The vacuum pump appears to be used in a few ford power units and in the Ranger 2011-2015 they use both take offs.

I think I will give it a go but check the vacuum on the brake servo side before and after with a vacuum gauge.
