Morning All,
Took the extension housing off my R380 to replace the 5th gear with the V8 ratio kit but have decided that I want to take the opportunity to fully strip, clean, inspect and rebuild with new synchros etc. I am sure I have seen somewhere dimensions for a basic rebuild stand (similar to the one which Britanicca Restorations uses in his youtube videos which allows the gearbox to be stripped and assembled vertically. There is nothing I can see in the R380 rebuild manual though. Does anyone happen to have dimensions for a suitable stand at all please? Wont be up at the workshop to measure up the gearbox until the weekend and keen to get some steel ordered to make a stand this week. Cheers, Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

Not sure if this will help. It's a drawing of the front cover where the bell housing bolts onto.
The Lt77 and R380 is apparently the same. ![]() |

Thanks. Hope you don't mind, I downloaded it as I didn't have this particular version.
The shaft lengths might differ but the rest should be okay. ![]() Click image to enlarge I will now also make one, just for when I need it. |

Just to close this off, metal bought and cut to length (marked with lengths for anyone who wants to make one too):
![]() Click image to enlarge All welded up and put to good use. Didnt find any need to put any cutouts in the top for the R380 and have just drilled a single hole for a retaining bolt. I also adjusted the height to make it long enough to accommodate the longer Td5 input shaft variant. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge Cheers Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

I also made one for a rainy day. As I didn't have measurements of the hight if used on the R380 I made it 250mm.
Luckily my work bench has movable sections if the shaft is longer. |
