All LR sizes lack the Kevlar reinforcement.

My guess would be by omitting the the Kevlar feature they get an improvement in rolling resistance and/or dive-by noise. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

The new bowler rally defender has KO2s fitted - looks like 265/65/r18.

Interesting they’ve not used their own 18in alloys; I know the 16in were the only “rally rated” (whatever that means), but thought the 18in were broadly as strong. 2011 CSW XS 90

The new Bowler does use their own 18 inch alloys. Their blurb claims that they're good for 1250kg each.

They're definitely a new design as the stud pattern for New Defenders is different from the originals. They're also definitely Bowler design though, and Borbet have always made their wheels. Darren

As far as I know the sidewalls were never Kevlar re-inforced, only the inside of the tread has kevlar on smaller sizes.

I’m a bit confused. do the Duratrac Wrangler off road tyres that are an option (not the all-terrain version) have Kevlar side walls? I’ve gone with 19” wheel.

a few reports on the FB groups as well as Tim on here on how easy the duratrac sidewalls seem to
be sliced as well.. so not just the Adventure AT's. Now enquiring through a Land Rover specialist
in Sydney to change my rear calipers and get them to certify they are up to spec for insurance purposes
so i can move to 18". If you have a P300/D200/D250 on order, i would strongly recommend going 18"
rather than 19", Censored all tyre choice in the 19" format if you are doing any outback touring or
off roading, far more choice in the 20" format if you have a P400/D300 yet another pommie bar steward down under

I have a D300, so 18” not an option. the 19” wheels seemed to cross Namibia ok. Let me know hoe you get on with the caliber change.

No kevlar in the sidewalls, only the inner lining.
