wiper parking and the MOT
typical - MOT booked for next week and yesterday the wiper parking decided to fail. (2010 USW).

The wipers work as usual on speed 1 & 2 and the wash function also works but random stopping of the wipers when turned off

Am I right in thinking the manual parking of the wipers is not an MOT issue?

Thanks 2010 XS USW

In the old days wiper parking was definitely not an MOT item, however now the test is for "visibility" and the only way that a failure to park correctly could lead to a failure would be if the tester considered that the wipers may stop in your field of view and restrict forward visibility. I think that this is unlikely since the drive obviously would have control of the stopping position and unless monumentally stupid could park them at the ends of the sweep.
