I will monitor my new trim and update if it starts to warp or come away from the bodywork

Picked up my 110 and noticed the same problem immediately. The top section of trim is held by double sided tape that has let go in some areas. Can push it in and pops off again. Sounds to me like they need to remove and re-apply the tape assuming the trim is not warped. Dealer is having a look on Monday...

Three of mine are looking similar to your second shot. Interesting that on your first and third shot you can see the tape/adhesive so clearly?
Let us know how you get on. |

IIRC these are dealer fit options not factory fit - possibly the surface wasn’t properly cleaned then wiped down with the supplied wipes before the apprentice was given the plastic bits to stick on the car. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

When my car was delivered last year I had a water leak into the rear seat that took a long time to trace its origin………… the small section of the signature square on the door glass had sections of the sticky pads/tape missing and there was no sealant on the pegs that hold the plastic styling bit to the door structure so it filled up with water when it rained and then dripped down the inside of the door between the card and the casing…….. so I agree the factory still isn’t getting the use of double sided sticky tape right! I also had a tapping noise coming from the door frames at the top of the windows - again rubber trim was held on by double sided sticky pads but one side had lost its stick allowing the curved rubber trim to tap on the metal, I fixed that myself with some silicone adhesive after seeing a video on YouTube about fixing the issue posted by Mark Anderson. Quite hard to get a photo that focusses on the right bit but here's the view of my front passenger lower door trim.
Click image to enlarge It's not that bad - but then I've only had the car a week and ALL of the lower door trims are showing it to some extent... I keep flip-flopping between J77's view of not worth the hassle of booking it in with dealer and risk them doing some other damage and Digger2000's successful outcome. Will be interested to hear if Digger's fix has lasted. |

Dealer looked at my trims on Monday.
When they removed the trims, they said there are multiple areas supported by clips in various locations and double sided tape. Apparently, some of the double sided tape still had the red plastic strip over the adhesive on one side... factory hadn't removed when installing the trim (can only put this down to human error). They have ordered a full new set of trims due in 4 weeks. Dealer has been fantastic and very transparent. I think people should ask their dealer to pop the trims and check. |

So far so good with mine…no movement but if they do I’m not changing again I’ll live with it.

A little update from my side on this - dealer is now saying it's not a fault and all Defenders they have on site show the same thing - pretty much exactly "they all do that, sir".
For such a tiny issue I'm going to ignore it and get on with my life. |

If they all show the problem then they are ALL WRONG .
Why do we continually put up with second best. |
