That’s a very good point! .. Land Rover stopped caring about cats post 2007. I’ll have come up with a DIY solution, which so far has been a hose. .. not sure the cat is enjoying getting a wash though, but it’s the better of the 2 outcomes and she’ll thank me in the end. |

Have an electric fan fitted.
The shroud could be shortened and would not allow the current comfortable position? Cheaper than the vets bill and more humane? |

To keep your furry friend safe from the fan, you could try placing a mesh or a pet gate around it to create a barrier. Cats are usually quite curious, so it's essential to create safe zones for them.

Two years ago I was getting the 200 tdi ready for the annual test (MOT) so I was checking things over. I had been getting a bad smell for a few days but could not pin point it. When I checked the fan cowling there was a decomposing cat in it. You can imagine what it was like getting it out.... 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

It’s an interesting thread. As an animal lover I don’t want any unfortunate accidents like this to happen.
I’d also prefer not to read any anti-cat (or anti any other animal) comments please if at all possible. Cats will hide away in any ‘warm place.’ I make such a rigmarole of getting in and driving off due to disconnecting the ctek, removing the safety pedal, other things I won’t mention, that hopefully any cat hiding will have woken up, and gone to a safer place by the time the engine starts. |
