No, it's integral to its' operation. It switches the earth on and off for both the accessory it's controlling and the indicator light. Darren

Thanks again Darren.

How am I supposed to connect pins 30 and 86 on the relay? I tried a piggyback spade connector but I don't think it's working... I think everything else is connected properly, so I reckon that's the weak link. Does the linking wire need to be able to handle 30 amps? What I'm powering draws up to 30A.

No, the link wire is just for the relay coil, so takes very little current.

There are lots of ways to join the wires from solder to crimp connectors to choc blocks. If you think that's where the problem is then try buzzing it out with a multimeter to confirm the continuity. Darren
