Now if you end up in west Yorkshire on that road trip, you've obviously learnt navigation at the Brendan (let's go the pretty way) School of navigation. Rolling with laughter

There are far worse places to end up and bits f it are v pretty.

That's a good trip, enjoy. Watch out for the bobbies on the A9 from Perth up to and beyond Inverness as the Highlanders are a sneaky bunch hiding up side roads in there unmarked pandas, that's if you are going a bit faster than allowed that is Whistle How long are you going for?

When you consider the route from Stornoway to Ross on Wye then a diversion into West Yorkshire is not a major detour. Could certainly break up the tedium of motorway driving especially with a trailer.

Last (also first) time I met Andrew was just off Thornton Road, Bradford!

Brendan

PS What is wrong with lets go the pretty way navigation method??

That route brings back memories, many many years ago I drove right round the Scottish coast from Inverness via JOG's and down to the Gare loch. If I recall there was a particular B&B in Scourie that left me with a blinding headache - stupidly attempted to keep pace drinking with a Scot......... Rolling Eyes

Enjoy the trip - don't forget a few scenery pics if you can. BM52

Thats a hefty road trip!

I did Burnley - Ripon - Bridlington - Newcastle - Carlisle and back home again on Saturday... More than enough for one day at least anyway...

I'd much prefer to be doing your trip though!

If you're going through West Yorkshire, then don't miss Harry Ramsden's fish and chip shop at Guiseley. Here's the location:

Looks great, any ideas for the Llandovery area? Going greenlaning soon and it's bit quiet around there.

A lot of people in Yorkshire would consider Harry Ramsden overrated these days. Long gone or days of coach trips to Harry Ramsden queueing for miles.

Try Bryans Headingley or Highgate Fisheries Bradford, Arkwrights Leeds is oldest chippy in UK and used to be good. Murgatroyds close to airport is good as well
