Dynax UB on chassis
Our 90 is rapidly approaching its sixth birthday and I really intended to have applied some anti-corrosion protection to the chassis before now but finally got round to making a start. I cleaned it very thoroughly (with Surfex HD) 3 days ago.

Pretty much every weld has shed the original paint and surface rust is starting to form.

First application of Hydrate 80 on the rusty bits.

Now I’ll leave it at least 24 hours to finish reacting.

Buzzweld WAR goes on a lot better IMO, I’ve got test patches of both on mine, ok they haven’t done a winter yet but the WAR went on better and is holding up very well.

I did my previous 110 with Dynax UC (while the paint was still shiny and new) and it was still in good shape after 2 years.

I personally like bilts stuff but in truth i guess most of these waxes work the same !...... if i was you i would cover the rubber fuel hose in gaffa tape ..as they tend to perforate easily ( on a puma 90 anyway) and it cannot do any harm and they are a Censored to replace.

Anything is better than nothing!

Not looking too bad after the first coat of UB and a couple of cans of S50 inside.

A very pleasing finish!

I use Dynax UB on any new nut, bolt and fixing underneath and have a squirt round every few months. JB

Second coat on. I think that’ll do it because it’s gone on quite thick in the 25c heat today.

In all it took me 6hrs to clean the chassis, 10hrs to wire brush and apply hydrate 80 and 8hrs for two coats of dynax. I've used half the 500ml flask of hydrate 80, 2 cans of syntax s-50 and 2 litres of dynax UB.

Now that the chassis has been tidied up, I can turn my attention to other improvements...

It’s taken a week for the tacky finish to harden off and I’ve been trying not to get too much dirt stuck to it.

Pleased with the final result.
