Supposedly all defenders have been unslotted. Next update to builds is July 7th, not looking good.

Thinking of just leasing an X for six months then selling it. Any thoughts?

Can you check yourself or are you calling the dealer for updates? My last new car Volvo V90, I was able to track it myself on their website, could see when it was on the boat etc. Bit surprised you cant do this yourself with LR!

There are it seems some very big delays coming as production is being slowed/stopped due the famous chip shortages. All Defenders and Disco have new delays as of last week, as some have said. With no visibility on when orders will be fulfilled. Looks like the dealer demo cars are all that will arrive. Not much use having a demo with no sales potential !

After advising last Friday that my Defender was being moved to distribution at the factory, it’s all gone quiet! No sign of it or any info from the dealer.

Well I have it. Everything you expect a Defender to be, plus it looks very stealthy, and one mean machine. The grey matt film works very well. Better than in some photos. First experience of the infotainment system and it seems pretty good, though you need a cable to get apple play (VW do that via bluetooth now) . Stereo is great.

It does not sound very good though, in fact it's really poor. Seems the noise regs have cut in , and even current SVR are tamed now compared too old. That is something that I will have to resolve as it is far from V8 JLR of old.

Now to get using it.

Montpellier, you need to get some low lifes under it with an angle grinder to remove the Gas particulate filter which is the bit that acts as a V8 silencer……… or try a search over on RRSport.co.uk to see what the RRS SVR guys do to return their cars to the proper sound Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!
