Just a thought but whilst the 90 is the 3ltr what output is it as I think they do a 200, 250 and 300 bhp version in the 110 but only the 200 & 250 bhp in the 90?
If its on air and steel wheels then presumably it will be a base model and running the 200 bhp engine which is not comparable to the Disco 5 which I think come with the minimum 250 bhp 3 ltr engine? Don't think your test results are fair even against the 240 110 you have due to bhp numbers but please forgive me if I am wrong Gas, Grass Or Ass - Nobody Rides For Free "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car. "OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car. "HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence. "TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you. |

What horsepower is in the Disco compared to Defender 90? No point comparing 300hp with a 200hp
Air maybe great but not worth an extra £1600. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue |

Must be a 90 X as that’s the only one available with D300 as far as I’m aware.
I went with 3.0 D200 as the 250 not really worth the extra and D200 felt more lively over the D240 110 I test drove. Bought the 90 blind really as mine was one of the first to arrive at my dealers so no option of a test drive and only got a couple hours with one back in October as part of the dealer tour, but so far it’s been just as useful as any previous LR, it just takes more effort and better packing to get stuff in. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue |

Sorry just been out to it, sheet in the car 250 but that would confirm why the 240v 250 is no real difference Mike

I test drove a D300 110 and a D300 D5 back to back and the D5 was much more sprightly to drive. It drove as you'd expect a 300hp car to drive. The Defender was much more relaxed.

The defender is less aerodynamic... but a bit prettier than the D5... so that would also make it a little faster.
But it could also be tuned / geared differently. |

Crumbs one of the reasons I didn't like the D240 was how gutless it felt compared to an 3.0D X5 @235HP that I had previously owned.
I've gone with the P400 and all clips I've seen shows it pulls well |

I can confirm the P400 has more than adequate pulling power and is a great drive, both on and off road.. i test drove a D5 D240 (before Defender launched) to assess how it went vs my 3.0 TDv6 RRS, chalk and cheese, so the P400 it had to be.. must admit if i knew the D300 was on the horizon i may have waited a further six months.. but no regrets with my choice.. The only downside is it empties the wallet a lot more often than the RRS which is now the wife's shopping trolley yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |
