Fitting Chequer Plate Under 90 XS Seats

Is it possible to fit chequer plate under forward facing XS seats? I have seen a couple of posts from people who have removed the seats completely and it appears that the lower bracket (ie in the bottom of the tub) doesn't have any fixing to the wheel arch. Can the seat be lifted up and chequer plate put underneath and then the seat lowered back down again?
