My other half has remarked on more than one occasion recently that she misses having a Land Rover for impromptu adventures. This is my fault really as I sold my two road worthy vehicles in favour of projects and money towards a house.
Anyway, I think this would be a good opportunity to purchase a Series 2/2A to fill the gap. SWMBO would love an S2 or early 2A (lights in grill) in yellow - Cool and Vintage style. I am less fussy and have the following criteria; - Not rotten as a pear (I don't mind doing a rear crossmember or an outrigger) - Roadworthy or within a few weekends of being MOTable (happy to recommission a vehicle etc.) - SWB ideally - I would prefer a tatty original vehicle to a bitsa So essentially, we are looking for the coveted barn find that everybody else wants. Our budget will not stretch to a restored vehicle sadly. On the off chance you have or know of one please drop me a message. A crate of beer is on offer to anyone who provides a successful lead. 1985 127 V8 Build Thread Series 2 109" Series 1 80" Last edited by Shroppy on 3rd Jul 2021 9:25am. Edited 2 times in total |

This on eBay now. Looks very honest. 2.0 Engine might be an issue. You could always fit a 2.25.

Thanks Gareth, a lovely looking vehicle and a refreshingly honest description. For the time being though I'd like to avoid eBay if I possibly can (a few too many bad experiences recently).
That said, I do have a spare V8 and conversion bits which would fit nicely. 1985 127 V8 Build Thread Series 2 109" Series 1 80" |

This one I suspect is close to you, but may be asking too much for what it is?

If not already done, join the Series 2 Club, there is always a couple for sale and not at silly EBay prices.

Thanks all for your responses, I have joined the S2 club and will see what pops up. The S2 in Chester may be worth a nosey... 1985 127 V8 Build Thread

Appreciate its not an S2 but we have a lightweight, bikini top and full soft top.
Very solid was restored a few years ago, come with new seats and loads of spares. Drives very well (clutch might need bleeding a bit on or off). Very solid thing needs a few minor things (service / new tyres) but ready to enjoy now the sins out ! Will be good value and ready to go, I took it in part exchange against another of our defenders |
