Click image to enlarge A pair of somewhat crusty “tube connecting” (3rd row seat belt anchors) were removed recently. Collected today from shotblasters, then dropped off locally for hot dip galvanising. The smaller item is an underbody bracket for an MSS cubby. There are two threaded bosses on the anchors. One is M8 x 1.25 and the other is M11 x 1.25 which appears to be a common size for seat belt fasteners. Here they are after blasting. Click image to enlarge |

I've only got the one new battery which is the: ODYSSEY PC1500DT I'll change the primary when it dies which will also give me some more room. Couldnt bring myself to buy two new batteries financially when I need to paint my flat as well. All complete today. Difficult to see the detail as ever but it all works!!! Seatbelt fasteners are normally 7/16" UNF (20 tpi).
If you measured one with a newfangled metric device you'd find it was 11.112 mm major diameter and 1.27 mm pitch. It is almost certain that this is what you have, especially since M11 is a non-preferred size in the ISO standards and there is no definition for an M11 x 1.25 mm pitch thread. |

See Blackwolf - info like you have just provided is why you are seen as by many including myself as a forum expert and you are a valuable member here.
A true asset to the site that Martin runs so well, if only every member was as level headed and helpful it would make the site even better. (Which it always has been pretty good overall). No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Collected my freshly blasted and powder coated rear ARB and refitted it along with new bolts, clamps and bushes.
The old bushes had a slight oval to them. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Over the weekend I installed a dual battery system using the Nakatenenga battery holder, Cyrix-ct VSR, HBC dual battery monitor, and two Varta LA80 AGM batteries.
Today is output shaft day... No idea the condition of my factory shaft (50k miles), but since it had to come all apart to check, a LOF one-piece shaft is replacing it. Roaming around 🇳🇴🇨🇭 |

Agree totally about Blackwolf always patient and helpfull with newbies (most of us were at some point)and i dont think ive seen him tell a poster to use the search function rather than answer the inquiry .I wonder if martin could set up a old timers hints and tips sticky to rival the what you did in your defender today thread..you could have handy tools ,hints and tips ,short cuts ,bolt sizes aand much much more . I know the experienced poster might say the search function is the newbies friend ,but i found it a broad brush tool and a handy hints section might help folk with the defenders idiosynchronicities.
