Rear end noise under brakaing
Got ours booked in for the recall ref exhaust torque, But theyre also going to investigate a noise from the rear end under firm braking thats started recently

Dropped in the other day and one of the techs took it for a quick drive, Wasnt something he'd heard before so we'll se what they can find.

Had it on my 90, that exact noise, it’s the heat shield fouling the rear prop Thumbs Up

There’s a few of us on here, it was forum member Digger2000 that pointed me in the right direction. It seems it’s a fault exclusive to us 90 owners Laughing 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

Swac3,

When you take it in, get the techs to raise an EPQR report to Land Rover Technical.

The more reports they get, the better chance of a proper fix or replacement part.

Our dealer has already reported ours.

I quizzed my dealer about it when mine was getting the side steps on, they said they raised it with LR. Whatever that means. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

In today for the Safety recall, Tech had it up on the ramps and yep it was the shield rubbing on the rear prop, Someone else had come in also with a recording of the noise on their 90 and he'd had time that day to throw it up and have a look, so knew exactly where to go to on mine.

As you said he's raising it on their system.

Simple fix, undo the retaining bolts and let the shield drop a little then re torque. 3 Landrovers

Just a quick feedback as what seemed to be the same was apparently not.
I had the same rear end noise while breaking and while going to the dealer it changed in a “loose meteal” noise that was present on the bumps (without breaking) as well.

Long story short, it was caused by a plate touching some transmission axle (ongoing recall).
And that problem was located at the front right.

Anyway, just my 2 cents.

Yes sounds the same, the heat shield touching the prop, they run the full length, also does it over bumps due to flex.

But good that LR are on the case Thumbs Up 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

Indeed, problem solved quite professionally by LR.

They were also quite surprised when I told them that I was aware of the recall and that I saw their internal document about it Mr. Green
