TD5 Vacuum pump failure oil contamination??
I had the Vacuum pump fail and the bits of rotor (Carbon I believe) are all in the oil return pipe.
It was fairly blocked with pieces and the pump has loads of bits in it......

So replaced the Alternator and pump but after reading a post elsewhere worried about changing the oil and filter???

I just serviced it then the pump failed so it's got fresh oil and filters...plus I don't have any spares here.

Whats the general procedure after this happening? I was hoping that the filters would stop any issues?

I need to do about 100 miles today really whats your thoughts?

Personally I would change the oil and both filters before running the engine at all, and would plan on doing it again in the very near future.

A pain, given the price of oil, but relatively cheap compared to a new engine.

Looks like I may have messed up big time Embarassed

I'm kinda soul destroyed at the moment...I had to run it and when I read your post I knew I had messed up.

I had the oil pressure light come on when I started it.

I will start a new thread to explain everything.
