And so it should be, a relatively trivial repair on a classic Defender (not so easy on the new type, methinks)!

Joking aside, would that need a new chassis or just new rear door, couple of panels and rear cross member (plus the various smaller bits)?

Without examining it it is impossible to say for sure, but it might just need a new crossmember, tub, door, and roof, plus of course misc parts such as lights, wheel, etc. It would be an expensive repair if done by an approved bodyshop with all new genuine parts and labour at £100 to £200 per hour, but technically not difficult.

It does look as though the rear axle has been shunted forward, which suggests more expensive chassis damage, and the n/s door looks to have a kink.

It would have made an ideal project for a competent DIYer who doesn't have to factor in labour costs and can use good s/h parts, or for a dealer who can use idle labour for the work. Even if it is more extensively damaged, being an proper (ie classic) Defender means that it is not a difficult repair.

Unfortunately would be a cat ‘s’ if registration is UK. I’m not sure what the situation would be if it’s not a uk registered car being sold by a UK breaker! 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

My 65 plate 110 CSW went CAT S because of this chassis damage from the step folding under and pushing the front mount into the chassis rail.

Shame.

To be fair, cannot really judge how well it took the impact as don't know what hit it, what speed etc

I believe they were just reversing into a parking space but foot slipped off the clutch Sheep
