tank range and MPG
D90 200 bhp

Just been on a long trip up to Scotland and back

wasn't trying to be an eco run, jut normal driving

33mpg returned and 540 miles done, showing tank range of 35 mile left

at some points mpg was in high 30's until a bit of speed brought it down

saw about 6-8 other new defenders and a few waves

Very good figures, i was pretty surprised on ours, we completed a 2,100KM trip from Sydney to Airlie Beach
in Queensland a few weeks ago,, the MPG equivalent was 24.93 and the range 449 miles, which whilst may
not sound great, i thought it was very good seeing as t is a P400, loaded to the gills averaging 97KPH, so lets
say take the towns and road works out of the equation, i was not being to gentle with the right foot Laughing Whistle

D240 110 coming up to a year old - all brim to brim fills and any below 29mpg were those were I had had a day off-road mostly spent in low range. Up to the last refill I have run with the cross bars fitted to the roof rails but took them off recently as I;m going on a road trip with a lot of motorway miles. I’ve also been running Duratrac A/T tyres since last July/ August.
I don’t hesitate to use the remote start to pre-warm the engine and cabin in winter which is why some of the winter numbers aren’t so good. I’m happy with what I’m getting from the 4 cylinder 2.0l which has perfectly adequate performance but it does have to work hard. Most of my trips in the car have been 16 miles each way to the nearest supermarket on a fast A road and no traffic lights, it doesn’t do any commuting running. Longest non-stop run so far was May 1st Holiday weekend with a trip 94 miles each way on winding A roads out to the west coast of Scotland which saw an average of 36mpg. I tried Eco mode but it doesn’t make much difference and I run with the climate control on all the time.
In 8500 miles it has burned enough oil to drop the level on the dipstick by about ¼ and 4 litres of Adblu have been added

Apart from the first tank, which was mostly towing, mine hasn’t done less than 31.4mpg which I am quite happy with.

glad to say to fill mine up with Shell 98 octane cost approx $128 Aussie dollars, about 70 pounds,
happy to say the fuel in Oz is reasonably priced, not as good as the US of A though.. UK prices are
just astronomical yet another pommie bar steward down under

Phwoar! I hit £111 at our local shell garage on the last fill up. Not with V though!
I don’t do crazy mileage so I don’t mind too much about the mpg and it’s marginally better the Audi S4 I’ve come from.
Cool

Latest fuel return was 9.8l per 100k’s, 28.8 mpg, not bad for a P400, average speed was curtailed by
unending road works Neutral

That's really impressive economy but I see the average speed was pegged at 60mph so did you reset the trip once on an A road or motorway then just record that?
