More folks who don’t know what that little R on the gear selector means then, just like the supercar drivers who take to the single track with passing places roads in some of the valleys near here. Even when there is one only 10m behind them they expect you in your normal car to back up 500m to the passing place behind you..... it’s great to watch tour coaches and cars towing big caravans having a stand off to see which will back up too Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

I imagine that they weren't thinking, hence the outcome.

I assume that was a relatively high speed avoidance manoeuvre, rather than a low speed pass attempt? Shocked Hopefully, none hurt too seriously! James

It must have been a tricky exit for the driver in the Ford. WARNING.

I have been in some tricky roads in scotland, I was half way up the steepest of the steepest of hills, and a local came around the corner, He had to stop quickly and reverse into a spot so i could get passed, if i stopped, it would have killed the clutch, doing a hill start. i was in 1st gear going up there, and the turbo spooling like hell, I am pretty sure the engine was very close to red line too. dodgy as anything single track roads are! Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Yeah that has to have been a case of too much speed and panic swerving.

That's funny, I thought the opposite - both drivers thinking their rufty tufty off-roaders can climb the banks and the Ford just falling over Confused Darren

Another for the budding crime scene investigators amongst us, how did this happen?

Very nasty for any front-seat passenger. Shocked

At least there are many scenarios for that which don't necessarily involve Darwin-Award-levels of driver stupidity, unlike the earlier incident (I won't call it "accident" since it was entirely avoidable) in this thread.

Somebody who was really annoyed with the LR sat nav or maybe just needed some direction in life? Darren

Fell asleep at the wheel, drifted straight into the sign.

Shocked I hope there wasn't a passenger! James
